The Intel Core Ultra series received some bad press on its initial release but has since made improvements and now offer good performance and stability after software adjustments and refreshes.

What do we mean by compact?

You might think that compact means tiny but in this instance, it just means they're not enormous. You'll often buy a PC online without realising that the PC case is gigantic as they're made to fit the highest performing parts on the market... But we're not all swimming in cash and a case made to fit a £3,000 liquid cooled GPU is just not necessary for a mid-range PC.

So, when you receive your custom built compact PC, you won't need a forklift to unload it, it's just the size you would expect a PC to be.

Is this PC upgradeable?

There isn't really much you could do to upgrade this beyond the available components here other than add more RAM and a 5080 or 5090 if they fit in your selected case.

What are our recommendations here?

As the processors are unlocked, a Z890 motherboard is required if you want to get the absolute max performance out of the processors. We provide the 265KF as an option for people who want it but we recommend the 270K Plus if you are looking for an Ultra 7.

If you want to play at 1440p (2k) then go with the below:

5070 or better GPU

Core Ultra 270K Plus or better CPU

1000W PSU

Whilst the 5060 Ti does support 1440p on some games, it's not the best option for playing at that resolution on every game.

If you want 4k gaming then go with the below:

5070 Ti GPU

Core Ultra 270K Plus or better CPU

1000W PSU
