Delivery and Returns Policy

Last updated: 01/07/2026

This policy explains how we deliver orders and how our returns process works, in line with UK consumer law, including the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Delivery

Delivery Times

We aim to deliver all in-stock orders within 2–3 working days of your order being confirmed. Custom-configured PC builds may take longer, as your system is built to order, so we will confirm an estimated build and delivery timeframe when you order, and keep you updated if anything changes.

Delivery Area

We currently deliver to addresses within the UK. If you need delivery outside the UK, please contact us at info@microton.co.uk to check availability and cost.

Delivery Costs

Delivery charges (if any) are calculated at checkout based on the size, weight, and value of your order, and will always be shown to you before you complete your purchase.

Order Tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you a confirmation with tracking information where available, so you can follow your delivery.

Missed or Failed Deliveries

If a delivery attempt fails, our courier will normally leave a card with instructions for rescheduling or collection. If an order is returned to us as undeliverable due to an incorrect address provided at checkout, we may charge a reasonable fee to cover redelivery.

Inspecting Your Order

Please check your order as soon as it arrives. If anything is missing, damaged in transit, or incorrect, contact us within 48 hours at info@microton.co.uk or 01625 537 070 so we can resolve it quickly.

Returns and Cancellations

Your 30-Day Return Right

We want you to be happy with your purchase. In addition to your statutory rights, we offer a 30-day return window from the date you receive your order, during which you may return most Products for a refund or exchange, provided they are:

  • unused, in their original condition, and (where reasonably possible) in their original packaging;
  • accompanied by proof of purchase (order number or receipt).

To start a return, contact us at info@microton.co.uk or 01625 537 070 with your order number before sending anything back, so we can advise on the best way to return it.

Custom-Configured / Built PCs

Because custom-built PCs are made to your specific chosen configuration, they are treated as bespoke goods and are not automatically covered by the standard 14-day "change of mind" cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. As a goodwill commitment, however, we still offer a 30-day return window on custom builds, subject to the following:

  • The system must be returned complete, in good condition, with all original components, accessories, and packaging.
  • Because a used, custom-built PC cannot usually be resold as new, we may make a reasonable deduction from your refund to reflect any diminished value caused by use, wear, or the cost of returning components to stock. We will always explain any deduction clearly before finalising your refund.
  • If you cancel before we have started building your system, you are entitled to a full refund.
  • This 30-day goodwill return is separate from, and does not replace, your right to a repair, replacement, or refund for a fault under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (see below), which is not subject to any deduction for use.

What Cannot Be Returned (Change of Mind)

For hygiene, security, or licensing reasons, the following cannot be returned for a change-of-mind refund once opened/used, unless faulty:

  • Software with broken seals or activated licence keys.
  • Headsets, earphones, and other items in direct contact with the ear, once used.
  • Any item where the security seal has been broken, where applicable.

This does not affect your rights if the item is faulty or not as described.

Faulty, Damaged, or Misdescribed Items

If a Product is faulty, damaged on arrival, or not as described, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, in addition to the returns policy above:

  • Within 30 days of delivery: you are entitled to a full refund or replacement.
  • After 30 days, up to 6 months: you are normally entitled to one repair or replacement (our choice), and if that fails, a refund or price reduction.
  • PC builds are additionally covered by our 36-month build warranty (see Terms and Conditions), covering workmanship and component failure under normal use.

To report a fault, contact us with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos/video where relevant, so we can advise the quickest route to resolution.

How to Return an Item

  1. Contact us at info@microton.co.uk or 01625 537 070 with your order number and reason for return.
  2. We will confirm the return method, which may be a prepaid returns label, courier collection, or drop-off, depending on the item.
  3. Pack the item securely, including all original accessories and packaging where possible.
  4. For PC builds and devices holding personal data: please back up and securely wipe your personal data before returning the device. We are not responsible for any data loss and cannot guarantee data will be preserved or securely erased during processing.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will process your refund to your original payment method, normally within 14 days. Original standard delivery charges are refunded in full for faulty items; for change-of-mind returns, the original outbound delivery charge is only refundable where required by law.

Return Postage Costs

  • If an item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect, we will cover the cost of return postage.
  • If you are returning an item because you've changed your mind, you will normally be responsible for the cost of returning it to us, unless we agree otherwise.
