Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 01/07/2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website store.microton.co.uk (the "Site") and any purchase you make from us. Please read them carefully before ordering. By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Who We Are

The Site is operated by Microton Technology Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 05886066, with registered/trading address at:

55-57 Wilmslow Road, Handforth, Cheshire, Wilmslow, SK9 3EN

  • Telephone: 01625 537 070
  • Email: info@microton.co.uk

2. About These Terms

2.1 These Terms apply to all orders placed through the Site, whether for stock computer components, peripherals, accessories, pre-built systems, or custom-configured PC builds ("Products").

2.2 We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place an order will apply to that order.

2.3 If you are not happy with any part of these Terms, please do not place an order and contact us using the details above.

3. Eligibility

You may only place an order if you are at least 18 years old and are contracting as a consumer or business based in the United Kingdom, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

4. Products and Descriptions

4.1 We try to describe and picture Products as accurately as possible. Colours, packaging, and minor specification details may vary slightly from images shown.

4.2 Custom-configured / built PCs: Where you order a configurable or custom-built PC, the specification is built based on the components and options you select at checkout (or agree with us in writing/by email). It is your responsibility to check the compatibility and suitability of the components you have chosen for your intended use. We will flag any obvious compatibility issues we notice, but final responsibility for the chosen specification rests with you unless you have asked us to recommend a build for a stated purpose.

4.3 Product availability is subject to stock. If an item you have ordered becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you to offer a substitute, a delay, or a full refund.

5. Price and Payment

5.1 All prices on the Site are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.

5.2 Delivery charges (if any) are shown separately at checkout before you confirm your order.

5.3 We accept payment via the methods shown at checkout (including major debit/credit cards and any buy-now-pay-later option offered). Payment is taken at the point of order unless otherwise stated for custom builds (see 5.4).

5.4 For custom-configured PC builds, we may require full or partial payment upfront before we begin sourcing components and building your system, as this is a made-to-order product.

5.5 We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct at the time they are published. If we discover a pricing error, we will contact you before processing your order to give you the option to reconfirm at the correct price or cancel.

6. How a Contract Is Formed

6.1 Your order is an offer to buy a Product. We will send an order acknowledgement by email, but this does not mean your order has been accepted.

6.2 A binding contract is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation (for stock items) or confirm we have begun building your system (for custom PCs), or when we take payment for a custom build, whichever is earlier.

6.3 We may refuse or cancel an order at our discretion (for example, due to a pricing or stock error, or suspected fraud), in which case you will receive a full refund of any amount paid.

7. Delivery

Please see our separate Delivery and Returns policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Your Right to Cancel and Returns

Please see our separate Delivery and Returns policy for full details of your cancellation and return rights, including the position on custom-built PCs.

9. Faulty or Misdescribed Goods: Your Statutory Rights

9.1 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Products must be:

  • of satisfactory quality;
  • fit for any particular purpose you made known to us; and
  • as described.

9.2 If a Product develops a fault or is not as described, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund, depending on how long you have had the item. Contact us using the details in Section 1 and see the Delivery and Returns policy for how to proceed.

9.3 This is in addition to, and does not affect, any manufacturer's warranty or our own build warranty (see Section 10).

10. Warranty on PC Builds

10.1 We provide a 36-month warranty on computer systems we build, covering parts and labour for faults arising from workmanship or component failure under normal use, subject to the exclusions below.

10.2 The warranty does not cover: accidental damage, liquid damage, damage from unauthorised modification or overclocking outside manufacturer specification, normal wear and tear, software issues unrelated to hardware, or faults caused by third-party components fitted after delivery.

10.3 Individual components (e.g., graphics cards, memory, storage) may also carry their own manufacturer warranty which may run longer or shorter than our build warranty; we will assist in directing manufacturer warranty claims where relevant.

10.4 To make a warranty claim, contact us using the details in Section 1 with your order number and a description of the fault.

11. Risk and Ownership

11.1 Risk in the Products passes to you when the Products are delivered to the address you provided.

11.2 Ownership of the Products passes to you once we have received payment in full.

12. Our Liability

12.1 We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

12.2 Subject to 12.1, our liability to you for any loss arising from your order is limited to the price you paid for the relevant Product.

12.3 We are not liable for any loss of data. Where a device is submitted to us for repair, upgrade, or service, it is your responsibility to back up your data beforehand.

12.4 We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity, except where such losses are foreseeable and directly caused by our breach.

13. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site (text, images, logos, graphics, software) is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or reuse it without our written permission.

14. Events Outside Our Control

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to supplier delays, courier disruption, extreme weather, or other force majeure events.

15. Complaints

If you have a complaint, please contact us at info@microton.co.uk or 01625 537 070 and we will do our best to resolve it promptly. If we cannot resolve a dispute directly, you may be entitled to use an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider or the EU/UK Online Dispute Resolution platform where applicable.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to bring proceedings in the courts of the country you live in if different.
